Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji is a very popular snack loved by everyone in India. It’s not just convenient to cook but healthy too.

  1. Boiled Potatoes- 4
  2. Peppers- 2
  3. Carrot-1
  4. Mixed Vegetable- 1 Cup (a mix of peas, carrots, beans, corn)
  5. Tomatoes- 4 (or 1 can of chopped tomatoes)
  6. Pav Bhaji Masala – 3 Tablespoons (Depends on how spicy you like it)
  7. Oil- 2 Tablespoons
  8. Onions- 2
  9. 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  10. Butter- 50 g
  11. Coriander Leaves- a handful
  12. Salt to taste
  1. Finely chopped Onion
  2. Finely chopped fresh Coriander
  1. Put all the vegetables (except boiled potatoes and tomatoes) together in a pressure cooker and pressure cook them till soft.
  2. Blend the vegetables using a hand blender and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped tomatoes.
  4. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add the boiled potatoes to it and mash them.
  5. Add salt, pav bhaji masala and coriander leaves. Mix it well.
  6. Add the vegetable blend and butter to the potato mix and cook it for 5 minutes.
  7. Add some water and cook it on slow heat for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Add the lemon juice to give a tangy flavour.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander and chopped onions.
  10. Serve hot with butter roasted buns.
  1. Pav bhaji masala is a great blend of spices which is available at any Indian grocery store. Using it not only makes it much more convenient but also adds to the flavour of the dish.
